Importance of Reading

Rotary Promotes Literacy of The Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant, a part of Rotary International, understands the importance of reading. Not only in our own community, but worldwide. Reading teachers play a vital role in improving literacy and in the development of successful readers. The Master Reading teachers in the Charleston County School District have completed additional studies and training that prepare them to meet the needs of our schools’ early readers.

To show appreciation to these hard working individuals, the Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant hosted the  East Cooper elementary Master Reading teachers for lunch at their January 28th meeting. Each teacher was introduced and received a Certificate of Appreciation and a classroom book.
